There are different levels of NMW, depending on your age and whether you are an apprentice. The current rates (from 1 October 2015) are as below:
£6.70 – the main rate for workers aged 21 and over
£5.30 – the 18-20 rate
£3.87 – the 16-17 rate for workers above school leaving age but under 18
£3.30 – the apprentice rate, for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.

 

From April 2016, the new National Living wage comes into force and for all employees over the age of 25, this new hourly rate will be £7.20. All those under the age of 25 will still be covered by the above minimum wage rates.
